It is the buzz word in all
organizations. Everyone wants to have more of it. However, everyone feels it is
difficult to get it. If you have it, others ensure you lose it. Some claim to
have it but actually they do not. What is this magical thing?
CREATIVITY !
It is not easy to be creative in
today’s corporate world.
It is easier to tone down a
wild idea than to think up a new one. – Alex Osborne |
There are enough “Penguins” in
any organization, which can dampen a “Peacock” with typical statements:
- It was tried in a
different way before and it did not work.
- You have no idea what you
are talking about.
- The Management will not
approve it.
The list is endless…the stage
will come, where; you will also start making such statements. What can one do to
avoid falling into the trap and ensure, we remain colorful like a Peacock at the
work place?
Being colorful does not mean,
coming with a new idea every day. Also, creativity in the corporate word is not
being artistic. It is basically something new which will help your company in
some way. Your creativity will not be respected if your idea adds no value in a
specific way. Improving Productivity, saving time, money...could be considered
to be Creative. In order to judge an idea against value, one would need to
understand ‘The CREATIVITY ©’ Matrix. Which is your window?
- Creativity
- Crazitivity
- Continuity
- Cabbagivity
You do not have to be born with
an intelligent or imaginative mind to be creative. Using simple methods, one can
become creative at the work place.
Remember - Being creative is one
thing and remaining creative without getting distracted by the Penguins is the
ultimate victory in any company.
Creativity is a type of
learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same
individual. – Arthur Koestler |
You will find all the answers
in the Learning Session – Be A Peacock Amongst Penguins ©. This experience is
recommended to be facilitated over one day.
